The closing ceremony of
the Ordinary Jubilee of Pilgrims of Hope took place on December 28 2025. The
Diocese of Agartala joyfully concluded the Jubilee Year of Pilgrims of Hope
with a solemn and grace-filled Holy Eucharist presided over by Most Rev. Lumen
Monteiro, Bishop of Agartala, which brought together priests, religious and
laity in a spirit of thanksgiving and prayer at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. The
liturgy was marked by special prayers and reflections that highlighted the
central theme of hope and renewal in Christ.
A significant feature of
this Jubilee year was the pilgrimage of the Jubilee Cross, which travelled
through all the 25 parishes of the Diocese. In each parish, the Cross was
welcomed with great devotion and reverence, becoming a powerful symbol of unity
and faith. Faithful gathered around it for liturgical celebrations, adorations,
confessions and moments of prayer and many faithful testified to the deep
spiritual experiences they encountered during its presence in their parishes. During
the homily Bishop exhorted that the concluding ceremony was not merely the end
of a year-long celebration but the beginning of a renewed mission, calling all
the faithful to continue being pilgrims of hope - witnesses of faith, love and
unity in their daily living.
