MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS PARISH, MANDWI
Brief History: The Parish of Mary Help of Christians, Mandwi, was formally declared a Parish on 1st September 2008, by bifurcating it from the Parishes of Moharpara and Mariamnagar. Fr. Thomas Lakra, S.D.B. and Fr. George Rodrigues, S.D.B. began to stay in the land given by the Diocese for the purpose of establishing the new Parish. On 26th October 2008 Fr. Thomas Lakra, S.D.B. was installed as the first Parish Priest by Most Rev. Lumen Monteiro, C.S.C. At present, the Parish has 31 substations. Two Schools and two Hostels are located in the Parish jurisdiction. Don Bosco Centre, Baijalbari began under the precincts of the Parish, but is nowParish with two resident priests.
